An Idea That Grew With Her
OUR STORY

It began with curiosity.
In 2020, Ani started experimenting with jewelry using materials she already had around her—paper clips, safety pins, old necklaces, repurposed materials, and supplies she discovered through her school’s innovation lab.
What began as creative experimentation soon sparked a bigger question:
Could something she loved making become something more?
A year later, that question would become Cosmic Child.
Born From Stardust
BEHIND THE NAME
Before there was a brand, Ani was looking up.
Captivated by space, astronomy, and stardust, she imagined jewelry collections inspired by the cosmos.
The name Cosmic Child brought together the vast universe Ani loved and the young designer discovering her own creative voice, a reminder that even the smallest idea, like the smallest thing made by hand, can carry something far larger than itself.
2021 · THE FIRST LEAP

When an Idea Became a Venture
At 12, Ani joined the Boca Chamber’s Young Entrepreneurs Academy and began turning her creative experiments into a real venture: Cosmic Child.
Through YEA, she learned how to take an idea beyond the worktable, developing a business concept, defining her customer, building a brand, and learning how to pitch her vision.
For the first time, Ani wasn’t simply creating jewelry. She was learning how to build a business around her creativity.

2023 · MILESTONE
The Pearl Award
In February 2023, Ani received the Pearl Award from the Greater Boca Raton Chamber of Commerce, recognizing her entrepreneurial growth through the Young Entrepreneurs Academy and the venture she had begun building.
The milestone marked a new chapter for Cosmic Child, one that would soon take the venture beyond YEA and into the wider Boca business community.
From Recognition to the Marketplace
2023 AND BEYOND · GROWING THE BRAND
Recognition affirmed the idea: the marketplace gave it momentum.
At the Boca Chamber’s Spring and Fall Business Expos, Ani stepped beyond the pitch and into direct exchange, sharing the story behind the jewelry, discovering what resonated with customers, and building relationships with mentors and community partners.
Each conversation helped shape Cosmic Child into a growing brand grounded in craft, commerce, and connection.

Vision Reimagined
Cosmic Child began with Ani making each piece herself, by hand, from recycled and repurposed materials. As the venture grew and high school arrived, making every piece alone became impossible. This is the moment most brands quietly outsource their craft to strangers and stop naming anyone.
Ani chose the opposite. Instead of leaving the making behind, she changed what she makes, moving from finished objects to concepts, sketches, and the relationships that bring them to life. Today she develops each collection in Florida, while her grandmother, her Nani, who lives in the city where the Taj Mahal was designed and built, coordinates directly with artisans in India whose skill and judgment shape every piece.
Most brands grow by making their makers disappear. Cosmic Child grew by making them matter more. What began at a single worktable is now a small circle of people, across two countries, who each leave their handprints on the work.
“Visiting Indian bazaars and working with artisans changed how I understood jewelry.
I began to see every piece as part of a larger exchange of culture, labor, ideas, and opportunity.
Building Cosmic Child has made questions of trade and development personal to me.
It has deepened my interest in how international systems shape opportunity for small-scale producers—
and how cross-border partnerships can create more equitable forms of exchange."
